Soybean Prices Surge Boosted by Rising Meal Demand

Soybean contracts increased by 8 to 10 cents on Wednesday, supported by a rise in soybean meal. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price rose 10 cents to $10.85 1/2. Forecasts indicate drier conditions in Argentina, potentially contributing to meal strength. November soybeans averaged $11.07 this month, up 53 cents from 2025 as the price discovery period for the spring base price for Crop Insurance nears its end.

This week, the EPA is expected to submit 2026 biofuel mandates to the White House OMB. Additionally, the USDA’s Export Sales report for the week of February 19 is due on Thursday, with traders anticipating soybean sales between 0.4 to 1 million metric tons and soybean meal sales projected at 250,000 to 500,000 metric tons.

On March 26, soybean prices closed at $11.48 1/4, with notable increases across various futures: Nearby Cash at $10.85 1/2 (up 10 cents), May 26 at $11.65 (up 9 3/4 cents), and Jul 26 at $11.77 1/2 (up 9 1/4 cents).
