Soybean Prices Surge to Teen Levels on Tuesday After EPA Announcement Amid Ratings Decline

Soybean futures rallied on Tuesday, with prices closing up 21 to 29 ¾ cents. The cmdtyView national average cash price for soybeans increased by 11 ¾ cents to $12.62 1/4 per bushel. In related markets, soymeal futures rose by $1.80 to $7.40, while soy oil gained 116 to 187 points. The USDA also reported a private export sale of 136,000 metric tons of soybeans to China for the 2026/27 marketing year.

On Monday, the EPA granted 18 small refinery exemptions for 2025, totaling 1.76 billion Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs) exempted. The USDA’s latest crop progress report indicated a 2% decline in soybean condition ratings, now at 58% good/excellent, with the Brugler500 index dropping to 353. July’s soybean crush reached 221.9 million bushels, exceeding expectations and marking an 8.16% increase year-on-year.

StoneX has revised its estimate of the Brazilian soybean crop to 183.5 million metric tons, up 0.4 million tons from earlier projections.
