Soybean futures are experiencing gains of 11 to 18 cents on Wednesday morning, following a previous increase of 5 to 7 cents across most contracts on Tuesday. The cmdtyView national average cash bean price rose by 5 3/4 cents to $11.27 1/4. Notably, preliminary open interest increased by 2,727 contracts primarily in the new crop. Soymeal futures rose by 80 cents to $1.10, while soybean oil futures remained stable, with 200 deliveries against March soybean oil reported overnight.
Additionally, the latest USDA WASDE report revealed a 5 million bushel increase in U.S. imports, offset by a 5 million bushel increase in crush, leaving net ending stocks unchanged at 350 million bushels. Brazilian soybean production remains at 180 million metric tons, while Argentina’s production decreased by 0.5 million tons to 48 million tons. Chinese soybean imports for January and February totaled 12.55 million tons, which reflects a 7.8% decline from the previous year.
