Soybean Prices Sustain Momentum Following USDA Announcement of Sales to China

USDA reported a private export sale of 312,000 metric tons (MT) of soybeans to China on October 20. Additionally, USDA’s export sales data for the week ending on October 16 indicated soybean sales of 1.1 million MT, marking the first week to exceed 1 MT this marketing year, although it remains 56.9% lower than last year.

As of October 20, soybean prices increased, with the cmdtyView national average cash bean price at $10.62 3/4, up by 3 3/4 cents. Soybean meal futures declined by $2.50 to $2.70, while soybean oil futures rose by 83 to 97 points. Agroconsult estimates Brazil’s soybean crop for 2025/26 at 178.1 million MT, a 6 million MT increase from the previous year.
