Soybeans Gain Momentum as Thursday Begins

On Thursday morning, soybeans are showing gains of 1 to 3 cents, following a slight decline in futures trading the previous day where contracts were down by up to 1 ¼ cents. The cmdtyView national average cash bean price decreased by 1 3/4 cents to $10.97 3/4. Open interest rose by 4,838 contracts on Wednesday, with 244 deliveries issued overnight.

The USDA’s weekly Export Sales report is set to be released Thursday, with estimates by Reuters predicting soybean sales between 0.3 and 1 million metric tons (MMT) for the week ending February 26. Analysts also expect soybean meal sales to range from 200,000 to 550,000 MT, and net reductions for bean oil between 20,000 MT to 26,000 MT.

Additionally, Statistics Canada will publish planting intentions data for 2026 on the same day, with a Reuters survey forecasting an increase to 22.3 million acres of canola, up from 21.5 million acres in 2025.
