Soybeans Outperform Other Grains in Early Monday Trading

On Monday morning, soybean contracts are declining by 4 to 6.5 cents, following a higher close on Friday where contracts rose by 1 to 4.25 cents. The cmdtyView national average cash bean price increased by 3.25 cents, now at $12.02. Soymeal futures saw gains between $2 and $3.60, with a weekly increase of $7.50 for September soymeal, while soy oil recorded losses of 56 to 184 points.

The USDA reported sales of 712,000 MT of 2026/27 soybeans to China and 720,000 MT to unknown destinations. Pro Farmer estimates the US national soybean yield at 53.3 bushels per acre, predicting production at 4.572 billion bushels. Additionally, the Commitment of Traders data indicates managed money added 50,300 contracts to their net long position, totaling 151,662 contracts.

Export sales for 2025/26 soybeans stand at 39.992 MMT, down 18% from last year, while new crop commitments are at 11.85 MMT, double from the same week last year and the highest in four years. China’s Sinograin plans to auction 290,000 MT of imported soybeans next Wednesday.
