In early trading on Wednesday, shares of Meta Platforms rose 8.1%, making it the top performer in the S&P 500 index for the day. Despite this increase, Meta has seen a year-to-date decline of approximately 7.7%.
Conversely, Corning was the worst-performing S&P 500 component, dropping 10.6% but still maintaining a remarkable year-to-date gain of 160.9%. Other notable movements included KLAC, which fell 8.2%, and FactSet Research Systems, which climbed 7.6% during the same trading session.
