Market Updates: Tesla and SpaceX Valuations

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) reached an all-time intraday high of $498.83 on December 22, 2025, bringing its market capitalization to approximately $1.67 trillion. Meanwhile, Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ: SPCX), or SpaceX, made headlines on June 12, 2026, after its initial public offering, closing with a market cap of $2.11 trillion.

SpaceX raised $75 billion by selling 555.6 million shares at $135 each, with less than 5% of its shares available for public trading. Tesla’s share float is around 75% of its total outstanding shares. Despite Tesla’s strong historical performance, its first-quarter deliveries increased only 6.3% year-over-year, and its energy storage product deployments fell 15.4%. In contrast, SpaceX’s revenue surged 33.2% to $18.67 billion in 2025, but it reported a net loss of $4.94 billion.

The combined market capitalization of Tesla and SpaceX is about $4 trillion, positioning them as the fourth-most-valuable company globally, behind Nvidia, Alphabet, and Apple. Analysts predict that these valuations heavily depend on future growth prospects, particularly as both companies explore ambitious technologies like autonomous vehicles and satellite broadband services.
