In 2025, SpaceX launched 165 Falcon 9 rockets, accounting for 34% more launches than all other nations combined, excluding the U.S. South Korea and Israel launched one rocket each, Japan launched three, India four, France seven, Russia 17, and China 90.
SpaceX increased the cost of its Falcon 9 rockets by 6.1% to $74 million. In comparison, Arianespace and United Launch Alliance charge over $100 million for similar rocket launches. Analysts estimate SpaceX’s cost per launch may be as low as $17 million, potentially leading to 77% operating margins for its customers.
However, recent reports suggest that SpaceX’s overall profitability may be less than previously believed, projecting annual revenue of $18.5 billion but losses of $5 billion in 2025, incorporating its X (Twitter) and xAI businesses alongside its profit-generating rocket and Starlink services.
