Stellantis Faces Financial Strain Amid High Recall Costs
In 2025, Stellantis reported the second-highest recall volume among U.S. automakers with 53 recalls, resulting in warranty expenses of $7.4 billion. This figure places Stellantis at roughly 4.4% in warranty costs relative to its total revenue, significantly above the industry average of 2% to 3%. In contrast, Ford led the industry with 153 recalls but managed to lower its warranty claims costs to $5.73 billion.
Over the past three years, Stellantis’s stock has declined nearly 60%, prompting a $70 billion turnaround plan aimed at improving product quality and reclaiming market share. The plan includes launching 11 new vehicles in North America by 2030, targeting a 35% increase in regional sales volume.
