Stellantis Reports Q2 Profit Amid Turnaround Efforts
Stellantis (NYSE: STLA) reported a Q2 net profit of €293 million (approximately $335.3 million) on August 9, 2023, reversing a significant loss of €1.87 billion from the previous year. The company cites rising demand, particularly for its Ram truck brand, as a driving factor in this financial turnaround. Notably, the adjusted operating income more than tripled to €773 million, although it fell short of Wall Street’s expectations of €914 million.
Stellantis’ market share in North America increased to 7.4%, up from 7% a year prior, marking the fourth consecutive quarter of year-over-year growth with sales climbing 6%. The company, which has seen its stock value decline by 70% over the past three years, anticipates further profitability improvements in the second half of the year, particularly through the introduction of the high-demand Ram 1500 TRX SRT. The company’s turnaround plan includes a $70 billion investment over the next five years aimed at increasing profit margins to between 8% and 10% in North America.
