On Thursday, shares of Amazon.com surged 2.7% in early trading, making it the best performing component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Year to date, Amazon has gained 17.2%.
Meanwhile, Home Depot is the worst performer today, trading down 1.6% but still up 3.5% for the year. Other notable movements include UnitedHealth Group down 1.2% and Merck up 2.0%.
