Bloom Energy Partners with Oracle for Major AI Cloud Energy Initiative
On April 14, Bloom Energy (BE) announced a significant partnership with Oracle to provide up to 2.8 GW of solid-oxide fuel cell deployments for AI cloud infrastructure. This collaboration is positioned as the largest direct hyperscaler fuel cell commitment in Bloom’s history, aimed at reducing Oracle’s reliance on traditional grid infrastructure.
AI Spending Set to Surge
Big tech companies are projected to increase AI-related capital expenditure by over 70% year-over-year, from $390 billion to $674 billion. As AI workloads grow, so do the energy requirements, with U.S. data centers already consuming 4.45% of the nation’s electricity, a figure that could triple by 2028.
Bloom Energy’s Financial Performance
Following its recent earnings release, Bloom Energy reported revenues of $751 million, significantly surpassing the estimated $540 million. The company also exceeded earnings per share estimates, reporting $0.44 against an expectation of $0.13. Following these results, shares surged by more than 20%.
