Concurrently, smaller companies nLIGHT and Applied Optoelectronics experienced even larger increases in their stock prices, soaring 20% and 21%, respectively, despite not being part of the Nvidia agreements.
Investors are speculating that nLIGHT and Applied Optoelectronics could become future acquisition targets or research partners for Nvidia, as the company appears to be expanding its supplier base in the optical tech sector. Notably, nLIGHT’s stock has increased by 630% over the past year, and Applied Optoelectronics has surged by 3,720% over three years.
