Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Surpasses $2 Trillion Market Cap

On July 30, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) saw its market capitalization rise by 7.6% to approximately $2.1 trillion, reclaiming its position above this significant threshold. This surge follows a notable second-quarter performance, which reported a 34% year-over-year revenue increase to $40.2 billion and a record net income growth of 77% from the previous year.

As of the second quarter, TSMC’s gross margin stood at 67.7%, with advanced technologies contributing 77% to wafer revenue. The company anticipates third-quarter revenue between $44.6 billion and $45.8 billion, reflecting a 12% sequential increase. TSMC’s shares trade at about 20 times forward earnings estimates, indicating a valuation comparable to other large companies in the sector.
