Tesla Bull Ross Gerber Criticizes Speculated Budget Model Y E80: “Just a Basic Set of Wheels!”

Investor Criticizes Tesla’s Rumored Affordable Model Y E80

Ross Gerber, a prominent investor, has expressed skepticism about Tesla Inc.‘s TSLA rumored Model Y E80, which aims to be a more budget-friendly version of the current Model Y.

What Happened: In a post on social media platform X, Gerber criticized the E80 rumors shared online. He remarked, “Just 4 wheels and you sit on the battery. Amazing innovation! The Tesla Model C – rap,” addressing the anticipated vehicle’s minimal features.

The Tesla Model Y E80 is said to be a simplified version of the standard Model Y. Notably, it may lack certain features like ventilated fabric seats, a manual frunk, and monotone ambient lighting. It is expected to be equipped with a 50-55 kWh battery pack and retail for approximately $28,000.

Why It Matters: Gerber’s critique is part of a broader pattern. He has previously accused Elon Musk of neglecting Tesla while focusing on other projects, including X AI.

Additionally, he has raised concerns about Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology, comparing it unfavorably to Alphabet Inc.‘s GOOG GOOGL Waymo, which recently reported reaching 250,000 weekly paid rides.

Earlier this year, Gerber voiced disapproval over Tesla’s Q1 sales performance, stating, “The BOD is 100% responsible and should be removed for negligence,” in a post on X.

Currently, Tesla exhibits strong momentum and quality metrics but shows weaknesses in value. Investors looking for deeper insights might consider further research into these metrics.
