Tesla delivered 97,171 vehicles from its Shanghai plant in December 2025, marking the company’s strongest delivery month of the year, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). This figure represents a 3.6% increase year-over-year, surpassing September’s deliveries of 90,812 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. Despite this strong finish, total shipments from Giga Shanghai for the year reached approximately 851,732 vehicles, a 7% decrease compared to 2024, reflecting a downward trend in the facility’s overall performance.

In 2025, Tesla sold about 625,000 vehicles manufactured at Giga Shanghai in mainland China, down nearly 5% from the previous year. This marks the first year of declining mainland sales since the factory opened in 2020. Global deliveries for Tesla totaled 1.64 million vehicles in 2025, with Giga Shanghai accounting for over half of that total. The facility also achieved significant milestones in December, including the production of its four-millionth vehicle on December 8 and the global rollout of its nine-millionth electric vehicle on December 30.

In comparison, BYD Company Limited delivered 414,784 vehicles globally in December 2025, bringing its annual total to 4.6 million, a 7.7% year-over-year increase. Similarly, Geely Automobile Holdings Limited reported 154,264 vehicle deliveries in December, with a total of 3.02 million vehicles sold for the year, meeting its sales target.
