Tesla’s Financial Results Under Pressure

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) reported approximately $27 billion in revenue for Q2, with automotive sales up 23% year-over-year. However, its operating margin has compressed to nearly 1%, and profit fell short of expectations due to ongoing price cuts and increased spending. Free cash flow was negative, with capital expenditures more than doubling to a projected over $25 billion for the year.

In Q1, Tesla produced over 408,000 vehicles and delivered around 358,000 units. Additionally, the company recorded 1.28 million active users for its full self-driving subscription, up 51% from the prior quarter, highlighting a potentially lucrative software revenue stream that deviates from traditional automotive models.
