Tesla leader, Franz von Holzhausen, graced the company’s delivery center in Marina Del Rey, California, last weekend, flanked by a team, offering up-close demo drives to customers, showcasing the vehicle’s driver-assist features, including the highly-anticipated full self-driving software.

The Outreach: On a casual Saturday, Holzhausen shared a snapshot with his crew donning Cybertruck-inspired tees from the California gallery. In a welcoming gesture, he mentioned their in-person presence at the center aimed to ensure seamless transitions for customers receiving their new vehicles, along with a firsthand experience of the groundbreaking full self-driving software.

Just last week, reports emerged of company titan, Elon Musk, directing Tesla staff to offer customers short test drives, framing real-time exhibitions to highlight the company’s innovative driver-assist features. Over the weekend, Tesla also kicked off free FSD trials for U.S.-based Tesla owners who had not purchased the feature originally.

Significance: The initiatives set in motion appear crafted to boost adoption of the software designed to usher in a new era of fully autonomous driving, as per the company’s claims. Presently, the software functions as a driver assistance mechanism mandating active driver oversight. However, Musk’s optimistic outlook in March projected that it will be “shining bright” by late April or May.

By June 2023, Musk labeled vehicle autonomy as the paramount factor propelling the brand’s market capitalization. At the VivaTech conference in Paris, he prophetically opined, “The value of the company is primarily on the basis of autonomy,” articulating that autonomy drives the brand’s intrinsic value.
