Palantir Technologies Financial Overview

Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) went public on September 30, 2020, at an opening price of $10 per share. A $10,000 investment made on that date would be valued at approximately $132,000 today, despite a 37% decline from its 52-week high of $207.52. The company reported first-quarter revenue of $1.63 billion, marking an 85% year-over-year increase and its fastest growth rate since going public.

U.S. revenue more than doubled to $1.28 billion, with a net income of $871 million, resulting in a net margin of 53%. Palantir’s total contract value reached $2.41 billion in Q1, a 61% increase from the previous year. The firm forecasts 2026 revenue to be approximately $7.65 billion, representing a growth rate of 71%. As of now, Palantir holds around $8 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and short-term Treasuries.

However, with a market capitalization of about $316 billion, Palantir’s shares trade at about 148 times earnings, indicating a high valuation relative to its current performance. Analysts suggest caution for new investors given the premium price point and substantial expectations for future growth.
