UPS and USPS Rethink Amazon Partnership
In a significant move, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has walked away from contract negotiations with Amazon, following UPS’s 2025 decision to cut its package deliveries for Amazon by 50%. UPS’s reduction stemmed from a desire to limit its exposure to low-margin business, forcing Amazon to reconsider its delivery strategies.
Currently, Amazon, which already handles much of its delivery logistics, may need to expand its own network or face increased costs from other delivery services such as UPS and FedEx, both of which are unlikely to increase their engagement with Amazon due to profitability concerns. This shift could lead to higher parcel-delivery rates, impacting customers and businesses alike.
