Tesla Sees Record Q2 Deliveries Amidst Market Challenges
Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) delivered over 480,000 vehicles globally in Q2 2023, marking a 25% year-over-year increase and surpassing Wall Street estimates of approximately 406,000 vehicles. This performance represents Tesla’s best Q2 delivery results in history and follows a challenging period for the company.
While the company faced a 2% decline in deliveries in China amid economic softness and intense domestic competition, it managed to achieve a nearly 33% increase in wholesale deliveries year-over-year. In comparison, major competitor BYD experienced a significant 40% decline in domestic deliveries during the first half of 2023.
In Europe, Tesla saw a remarkable 77% year-over-year growth in registrations from January to May 2023, contributing significantly to its Q2 success. As the automotive market continues to be competitive, Tesla’s ability to maintain strong performance in challenging regions highlights a potential rebound from previous delivery setbacks.
