Buenaventura Mining, a leader in precious metal production in Peru, has an average four-quarter earnings surprise of 80.4%. Veeco Instruments, which specializes in thin film process equipment, reports an earnings surprise of nearly 26%. Blue Bird, a manufacturer of school buses, has a surprise of 23.3%, while Eni, a major integrated energy player, has an average earnings surprise of 13.5%.
Key efficiency ratios used in the screening include Receivables Turnover, Asset Utilization, Inventory Turnover, and Operating Margin, all of which reflect a company’s ability to manage resources effectively and generate profits.
