Investor Jake Lerch has proposed a hypothetical $50,000 portfolio, allocating $20,000 (40%) to Walmart (NYSE: WMT), $5,000 (10%) to Duolingo (NASDAQ: DUOL), and $25,000 (50%) to Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT). Walmart generated over $665 billion in sales in the past year, making it the largest American company by revenue, with $115 billion in U.S. sales reported for Q2 2023, 17% of which came from online orders.
Duolingo surpassed 100 million monthly active users, with total subscribers increasing by 52% year-over-year to 8 million. The company reported revenue growth of 41% to $178 million, and net income rose to $24 million. Analysts anticipate $950 million in revenue for next year, marking a 29% increase.
Microsoft, representing half of the portfolio, has seen its stock price surge by over 1,300% in the past decade under CEO Satya Nadella. The company leads in AI development, leveraging its partnership with OpenAI to integrate AI features across its products, positioning itself for future growth.
