Trump SPAC Digital World Acquisition (NASDAQ:DWAC) revealed its plans on Friday to convene a special meeting of its stockholders. This meeting is slated to vote on the approval and adoption of the proposed business combination with former president’s social media platform Trump Media & Technology on March 22.
Notably, shares of DWAC experienced a 0.2% decline in extended trading.
Digital World stockholders of record as of the close of business on February 14, 2024, will have the entitlement to attend and cast their votes at the special meeting, the company stated. The authorization to proceed with the business combination was granted by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Thursday, marking a significant milestone for DWAC after a pursuit spanning over two years for the acquisition of Trump’s media enterprise.
