Tesla has received approval from Dutch regulators for its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software, allowing its use under human supervision on highways and city streets in the Netherlands. This rollout is pivotal as the country has approximately 100,000 eligible Tesla vehicles, predominantly Model 3 and Model Y. Following 18 months of testing by the RDW, Tesla aims to expand the FSD technology to other European countries.
The RDW will seek further approval across the European Union, requiring majority support from member states. Tesla’s self-driving technology is critical to its long-term strategy, particularly as it navigates sales challenges in Europe. February sales marked the first increase in over a year, despite the company facing lawsuits in the U.S. regarding its software.
