Significant options trading activity was reported today for several S&P 500 components, with Applied Materials, Inc. (AMAT) leading the charge. AMAT saw a total volume of 31,005 contracts traded, equating to approximately 3.1 million underlying shares, representing 48.9% of its average daily trading volume of 6.3 million shares. The $530 strike call option expiring on October 16, 2026, attracted 2,468 contracts, or roughly 246,800 underlying shares.

Alphabet Inc. (GOOG) also had noteworthy options activity, with 74,721 contracts traded, representing around 7.5 million underlying shares, or 43% of its average daily volume of 17.4 million shares. The $335 strike put option for expiration on October 2, 2026, saw 2,219 contracts traded, covering about 221,900 underlying shares.

Additionally, GE Vernova Inc. (GEV) recorded options trading volume of 9,108 contracts, equivalent to roughly 910,800 underlying shares, or 40.7% of its average daily volume of 2.2 million shares. The $860 strike put option expiring on November 6, 2026, experienced high activity with 319 contracts traded, representing approximately 31,900 underlying shares.
