Nvidia, the most valuable public company with a market capitalization exceeding $4.5 trillion as of January 23, 2023, holds a near-monopoly on high-end AI training hardware. Its graphics processing units (GPUs) are essential in training and running AI models, contributing to a 38.9% stock price increase for 2025. However, as companies like Amazon and Alphabet start developing their own chips, Nvidia is expected to lose some market share.
Alphabet, on the other hand, reported a 65.4% increase in stock price for 2025, showing no significant adverse impact from AI tools on its Google Search business. Over 72% of its revenue in Q3 2023 came from advertising, while its cloud business is rapidly growing, positioning Alphabet well in the competitive landscape of cloud services despite currently lagging behind industry leaders like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
