Textron Inc. announced that its subsidiary, Textron Systems Corporation, has secured a contract with Arco Worldwide Services to provide three Aerosonde Mk. 4.7 vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to Tantita Security Services. The delivery is expected to enhance security operations for Nigeria’s critical oil and gas infrastructure. The contract is structured to be free from International Traffic in Arms Regulations, facilitating easy export.
Additionally, the contract includes options for training and more aircraft to bolster capability expansion, building on a prior Foreign Military Sale contract with Nigeria. Textron’s Aerosonde UAS has logged over 700,000 flight hours globally and offers extensive multi-mission capabilities with day-and-night imaging, communications relay, and signals intelligence functionalities.
