Uber Technologies Partners with Zoox for Autonomous Robotaxis
Uber Technologies has entered a multiyear agreement with Amazon’s autonomous vehicle unit, Zoox, to deploy purpose-built robotaxis on the Uber app. This service will launch in Las Vegas in summer 2025 and expand to Los Angeles by mid-2027. This partnership allows Uber to capitalize on its existing user base of 202 million monthly active platform consumers without bearing the heavy costs of developing autonomous vehicles.
For Q4 2025, Uber reported a 20% year-over-year revenue increase, totaling approximately $14.4 billion, with gross bookings reaching $54.1 billion, up 22% year-over-year. The company generated $9.8 billion in free cash flow for the full year, a 42% increase from 2024, underscoring its financial stability amid the evolving autonomous vehicle landscape. Uber’s current stock trades at around $73 per share, significantly below its 52-week high of nearly $102, reflecting investor concerns about competition in the self-driving sector.
