The iShares Defense Industrials Active ETF (IDEF) experienced exceptionally high trading volume on Thursday, with over 19.2 million shares exchanged, significantly surpassing its three-month average of approximately 55,000 shares. Despite this surge, IDEF shares declined about 0.7% for the day.
Key components driving this unusual activity included Palantir Technologies, which saw a 1.6% increase with 26.9 million shares traded, and Red Cat Holdings, up 0.6% on 10.6 million shares. Unusual Machines led the gains with a 10% increase, while GE Aerospace was down 5.9%.
