The First Trust Nasdaq Transportation ETF (FTXR) experienced unusually high trading volume on Friday, with over 800,000 shares changing hands, significantly surpassing its three-month average of around 50,000 shares. The ETF’s shares were down approximately 1.9% for the day.
Key contributors to this volume included American Airlines Group, which traded down about 6.3% with over 61.3 million shares exchanged, and Ford Motor, dropping about 1.9% on over 39.6 million shares. Conversely, XPO showed positive performance, rising approximately 2.5%, while United Airlines Holdings declined by about 8.6%.
