High Trading Volume for iShares U.S. Consumer Staples ETF on Friday

The iShares U.S. Consumer Staples ETF (IYK) experienced significant trading activity on Friday afternoon. Over 780,000 shares changed hands, greatly exceeding the three-month average volume of approximately 218,000 shares. Despite this surge in trading, IYK’s shares were down about 0.5% for the day.

On Friday, specific components of the ETF exhibited varied performance. Coca-Cola led in volume, with over 10.5 million shares traded, decreasing by around 1.4%. Procter & Gamble followed, registering a decline of 0.7% with over 5.5 million shares exchanged. Notably, Celsius Holdings stood out positively, rising approximately 4% on the day. In contrast, Pilgrim’s Pride underperformed relative to its peers, trading approximately 3% lower.
