Hologic, Inc. (HOLX) is set to present new data on its AI-driven breast cancer detection technologies at the RSNA 2025 Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL. The global market for AI in breast imaging is projected to grow at a CAGR of 3.30% through 2034, driven by increasing breast cancer prevalence and advancements in technology.
A retrospective study covering over 160,000 screening mammography exams indicated no significant difference in cancer detection rates after the implementation of Hologic’s 3DQuorum imaging technology, which utilizes AI to optimize workflow by reducing the number of imaging slices reviewed by radiologists. Additionally, a study involving 108 radiologists from the U.K. and U.S. showed that Hologic’s Genius AIDetection detected more cancers but had lower specificity, leading to more false positives.
Hologic plans to showcase further innovations, including the AI-powered Genius AI Detection suite and the next-generation Envision Mammography Platform, expected to commercially launch in fiscal 2026.
