Verizon Communications, Inc. (VZ) recently launched its 5G Network Slice – Enhanced Internet, a fixed wireless internet solution providing 200 Mbps downlink and 45 Mbps uplink without data caps. This offering is tailored to support various applications, such as AI, cloud-based services, and IoT devices, by allowing operators to create customized virtual networks with specific security measures and latency settings.

The new network slicing capabilities will enhance connectivity across multiple sectors, including media, logistics, and public safety, as enterprises increasingly adopt AI and cloud technologies. Verizon aims to optimize network infrastructure to meet the diverse needs of different applications.

This development comes amid competition from AT&T, Inc. and T-Mobile, US, Inc., the latter being the first U.S. carrier to offer network slicing. As of now, Verizon has seen a 0.5% stock increase over the past year, while its price-to-earnings ratio stands at 6.18, lower than the industry’s 8.7.
