Warren Buffett Shifts Berkshire Hathaway’s Portfolio
Legendary investor Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway has recently made significant changes to its portfolio. In its latest 13-F filing, the company sold over 7 million shares of Amazon.com, valued at approximately $1.8 billion, and simultaneously acquired more than 5 million shares of The New York Times Company (NYSE: NYT) at an average price of $61.09 per share, currently trading around $78.
The New York Times Company reported 12.78 million total subscribers, with 12.21 million being digital-only, highlighting its transition into a digital media powerhouse. The company’s revenue reached $802.3 million for the most recent quarter, with nearly 48% derived from digital subscriptions. Digital advertising revenue also surged by 24.9% year-over-year, amounting to $147.2 million.
