WEC Energy Group Reports Key Takeaways from Q2 Earnings Call

WEC Energy Group (NYSE:WEC) reported second-quarter earnings for 2026 at $0.91 per diluted share, a $0.15 increase from the same period in 2025. The company reaffirmed its full-year earnings guidance of $5.51 to $5.61 per share, assuming normal weather conditions. WEC also aims for a compound annual earnings-per-share growth of 7% to 8% from 2026 through 2030.

WEC is executing a $37.5 billion five-year capital investment plan, significantly driven by data-center development in Wisconsin. The first facility for Microsoft at Pleasant Prairie is operational, with a forecasted demand of 2.6 gigawatts through 2030. Additionally, Vantage Data Centers is developing facilities for Oracle, expecting to invest $15 billion and anticipating an initial phase completion by late 2027, presenting a projected demand of up to 3.5 gigawatts.

For the third quarter of 2026, WEC expects earnings between $0.92 to $0.98 per share, considering July weather and the assumption of normal conditions thereafter. The company also reported that utility operations contributed $0.06 more to earnings compared to the previous year, while weather negatively impacted earnings by $0.05 during the quarter.
