WEC Energy Group Inc (WEC) has surpassed Keurig Dr Pepper Inc (KDP) to secure the #256 position in the S&P 500 based on market capitalization, which is now $37.43 billion compared to KDP’s $36.59 billion, according to The Online Investor.
This change is significant as market capitalization serves as a critical measure for investors, facilitating a true comparison of company valuations. As of the latest market close, WEC shares increased by approximately 2.1%, while KDP shares rose by about 1.8%.
Market capitalization not only reflects a company’s size but also influences investment choices by mutual funds and ETFs, impacting the companies they are willing to include in their portfolios.
