Weekly Sector Highlights: Utilities and Consumer Products Lead

As of midday Monday, the Utilities sector is the best-performing sector, up 1.2%. Major contributors include Constellation Energy Corp (CEG), which has gained 3.5%, and Dominion Energy Inc (D), up 2.7%. The Utilities Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLU) is also showing a gain of 0.6% for the day and is up 8.05% year-to-date. Year-to-date, Constellation Energy is up 41.38%, while Dominion Energy has risen by 5.90%. Together, they account for approximately 11.7% of XLU’s holdings.

The Consumer Products sector follows, increasing by 0.7%. Tesla Inc (TSLA) and Estee Lauder Cos., Inc. (EL) are notable stocks here, with gains of 9.3% and 4.1%, respectively. The iShares U.S. Consumer Goods ETF (IYK) is up 0.4% for the day and 8.29% year-to-date. Year-to-date performance indicates Tesla is down 12.78%, while Estee Lauder has increased by 5.35%.

In total, seven sectors are showing gains, while two are in the red, with the worst-performing sectors being Healthcare, down 0.2%, and Energy, down 2.2%.
