Wheat Experiences Decline in Afternoon Trading

On Thursday, wheat prices faced pressure across major exchanges, with Chicago SRW futures showing minor losses. Specifically, March 2026 CBOT Wheat is priced at $5.12, down 0.5 cents, while May 2026 CBOT Wheat is at $5.23, down 0.75 cents. KC HRW futures decreased by 1 to 2 cents, and MPLS spring wheat reported similar losses.

Wheat export sales for the week of January 8, 2025, totaled 156,255 MT, falling short of the 100,000-450,000 MT estimates. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has issued a tender to buy 595,000 MT of wheat with a deadline on Friday, and a South Korean importer secured 50,000 MT of U.S. wheat in an overnight tender. Expana upgraded the EU wheat production forecast to 128.6 MMT but cut the export projection by 1.2 MMT to 28.8 MMT.
