The wheat market showed positive movement on Monday, with Chicago SRW gaining 5 ¾ to 12 ¾ cents, KC HRW up 4 to 10 ¾ cents, and MPLS spring wheat rising by 4 ½ to 5 ¾ cents. The uptick followed a weekend of eased tensions in the Black Sea region.

As of Sunday, the NASS Crop Progress report indicated that 96% of the US spring wheat crop had been harvested, consistent with the average pace. However, winter wheat planting was only 17% complete, lagging the five-year average by 4 percentage points.

In the week ending September 17, Export Inspections reported wheat shipments totaling 335,253 MT (12.32 mbu), down 29.12% from the previous week and over 31% lower compared to the same week last year. Mexico was the top destination with 98,954 MT, followed by Vietnam (66,023 MT) and the Philippines (65,069 MT).
