On Thursday, wheat prices decreased across major U.S. markets, with Chicago SRW wheat down 7 to 8 cents, KC HRW contracts down 5 to 6 cents, and MPLS spring wheat down 2 to 5 cents. The USDA’s Export Sales report showed wheat sales of 255,208 MT for the week of June 19, falling short of analyst estimates (300,000 to 600,000 MT) and marking a 40.26% decline from the previous week and 61.75% from the same week last year. Japan was the largest buyer at 93,600 MT, followed by Mexico with 83,200 MT.
Russia’s wheat crop for the current growing season is estimated at 84.53 MMT, while the European Commission increased its EU wheat production estimate for 2025/26 to 128.2 MMT. The International Grains Council has raised world wheat production forecasts by 2 MMT to 808 MMT, with ending stocks expected to rise by the same amount to 264 MMT.
