Wheat Market Sees Decline on Monday

On March 2, the wheat complex saw notable declines in futures across major markets. Chicago SRW futures fell by 16 to 17 cents, while KC HRW futures decreased by 13 to 14 cents. MPLS spring wheat dropped by 10 to 12 cents, with May 26 CBOT Wheat closing at $5.97 1/4.

Export inspections data revealed that 343,022 metric tons (12.6 million bushels) of wheat were shipped, marking a 31.2% decrease from the previous week and 30.81% lower than the same week last year. Mexico remained the top destination, importing 79,566 metric tons, followed by the Philippines with 62,647 metric tons and Bangladesh with 56,699 metric tons. Year-to-date shipments totaled 19.47 million metric tons, reflecting an 18.67% increase year-over-year.

The Kansas Crop Progress report indicated a 4% decline in winter wheat conditions, with 52% rated good/excellent, and the Brugler500 index decreasing by 9 points to 339.
