Wheat Market Shows Slight Gains on Thursday Morning

Wheat prices are showing slight gains as of Thursday morning after a rally on Wednesday, where all three exchanges closed higher. Chicago SRW futures increased by 6 to 8 cents, while KC HRW futures saw a 10-cent gain. Current open interest rose, with an increase of 3,596 contracts for Chicago and 1,747 contracts for Kansas City.

Export sales data for the week of January 1 is anticipated to show 200,000 to 500,000 MT for 2025/26 wheat sales, with bookings for 2026/27 expected between 0 and 100,000 MT. The USDA will release its Winter Wheat Seedings report on Monday, projecting total winter wheat acreage at 32.4 million acres, with HRW at 23 million acres.

As of Wednesday, March 26 CBOT Wheat closed at $5.18, up 7.5 cents, and is currently up 1.75 cents. Similar increases were noted in other wheat categories, including KCBT and MIAX futures.
