On Monday, the U.S. wheat market showed mixed results: Chicago SRW futures increased by 3.75 to 7.25 cents, while KC HRW futures fell by 1.5 to 2.5 cents. MPLS spring wheat remained steady to up by 4 cents. According to Crop Progress data, 12% of U.S. spring wheat is now planted, aligning with the five-year average, while winter wheat is at 20% heading, eight percentage points ahead of normal.
In export news, the USDA reported 518,141 metric tons (19.04 million bushels) of wheat shipped for the week ending April 16, marking a 90.19% increase from the previous week and a 1.55% rise year-on-year. The largest destinations included the Philippines (96,000 MT), Mexico (91,030 MT), and Indonesia (57,799 MT).
The closing prices for May 26 were: CBOT Wheat at $5.97 (up 5.75 cents), KCBT Wheat at $6.35 (down 1.75 cents), and MIAX Wheat at $6.55 (up 2 cents).
