Wheat Prices Decline in Friday Morning Trading

Wheat prices fell across three exchanges on Friday, with Chicago SRW futures down between 11.75 and 18 cents. The Kansas Wheat Quality Tour concluded with an average yield of 38.9 bushels per acre (bpa), marking the lowest average since 2023 and the second lowest since 2018. Total production was reported at 218 million bushels, slightly higher than the USDA’s recent estimate of 214 million bushels.

USDA’s Export Sales report revealed old crop wheat sales of 133,485 metric tons, an increase from last week and last year, with Indonesia purchasing 70,000 metric tons and the Philippines 56,000 metric tons. New crop sales were reported at 221,143 metric tons, representing a 70.36% decline compared to the same week last year, with Mexico buying 79,200 metric tons and the Philippines 66,500 metric tons.
