On Wednesday, the wheat complex mostly trended lower, with Chicago SRW futures down 4 to 5 cents and KC HRW contracts decreasing by 3 to 4 cents. Meanwhile, MPLS spring wheat showed mixed results during the trading session.
Stats Canada estimates Canada’s wheat production for 2026/27 at 36.12 million metric tons (MMT), a 10.9% decline from the previous year. Spring wheat production is projected to drop to 26.452 MMT. In Ukraine, the agriculture ministry forecasts winter wheat acreage for 2027 at 4.5 million hectares, down 200,000 hectares from 2026.
Regarding French wheat exports, FranceAgriMer has revised its figures to 6.3 MMT for exports outside the EU (a decrease of 0.7 MMT) and 7.1 MMT for exports within the EU (down 0.3 MMT). Additionally, French ending stocks are expected to be 3 MMT, a decline of 0.65 MMT.
