The wheat market experienced declines on Tuesday, with Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) futures dropping 9 to 10 cents, Kansas City HRW contracts falling 11 to 11 ¼ cents, and Minneapolis spring wheat down 2 to 3 cents. September 25 CBOT Wheat is priced at $5.07 1/2, while Kansas City and Minneapolis wheat futures are at $5.05 3/4 and $5.70 3/4, respectively.
In June, the U.S. Census reported wheat shipments totaling 1.719 million metric tons (MMT), marking a four-year high but reflecting a 20.42% decrease from the previous month. USDA’s Crop Progress data indicates that 86% of the winter wheat is harvested, aligning with the normal harvest pace. However, only 5% of the spring wheat crop has been harvested, trailing behind the average of 9%.
Additionally, a South Korean importer secured 65,000 MT of U.S. wheat in a private deal. The European Commission estimates soft wheat exports for the 2025/26 period at 1.11 MMT since July 1, significantly down from 2.64 MMT in the same timeframe last year.
