On March 26, 2025, Chicago SRW wheat futures fell by 15 to 16 cents, while KC HRW futures decreased by 8 to 9 cents. MPLS spring wheat also declined by 4 to 6 cents as the market corrected following the previous Friday’s gains. Current wheat prices include March CBOT at $5.75 3/4 and May CBOT at $5.76.
The USDA reported that wheat export shipments for the week ending February 26 totaled 344,272 metric tons (12.65 million bushels), marking a 38.9% decrease from the prior week. The primary destination was the Philippines, receiving 88,227 MT, followed by Tanzania at 47,000 MT and Mexico at 39,587 MT. Exports since June 1 for the 2025/26 marketing year are at 18.62 million metric tons, 18.82% higher than the same period last year.
Additionally, managed money reduced their net short position in CBT wheat by 50,740 contracts, bringing the total to 17,297 contracts—its lowest since October 2022. Saudi Arabia also purchased 794,000 MT of wheat over the weekend.
