On Friday, the wheat complex climbed across three exchanges, with Chicago SRW contracts seeing gains of 22 to 23 cents, and KC HRW futures up 25 to 26 cents. MPLS spring wheat also rose, with increases of 13 to 17 cents at midday.
Current export sales for wheat are reported at 8.342 million metric tons, down 31% from the same week last year and only 40% of the USDA’s export projection, falling short of the 52% average. Additionally, Ukraine’s Agriculture Minister forecasts that the 2027 winter wheat crop will decline from the current 4.7 million hectares (11.61 million acres).
As of September 26, CBOT wheat prices are as follows: Sep at $7.65 1/4 (up 22 1/2 cents), Dec at $7.83 1/2 (up 22 3/4 cents), KCBT Sep at $8.29 1/4 (up 25 3/4 cents), and MILAX Sep at $7.46 1/2 (up 13 3/4 cents).
